Au Pair: Jennifer Roden from Germany
Host Family: Brown Family in Nevada

Our son, Aaron, adores Jennifer. She takes plays with him, reads to him, gives plenty of hugs to him, helps him learn to use the "big boy potty," prepares his meals and generally helps guide and comfort him. She has a ton of energy, and uses it to take Aaron to gym classes, soccer classes, play groups, the children's museum, and other activities. Our son is very happy.
Jennifer has truly become a part of the family. When we had a newborn this November, Jennifer jumped right in to help get things ready for baby Sophia as well as care for Aaron. Being in the home with a newborn means lots of noise and chaos. It has been especially stressful in our home because Sophia has had colic which means many hours of crying (and screaming) in the evenings. Jennifer has dealt with the situation with a great deal of maturity and understanding. She comforts Aaron (and us)!
I do not know what we would have done without having Jennifer in our lives this past year.
