Au Pair: Margarita Sonnenberg from Germany
Host Family: Euston family in Georgia

We would like to nominate Margarita Sonnenberg, from Germany, for au pair of the year. Maggie joined our family in March. She loves to draw, helps us with our homework, takes us to soccer and cheer practice and plays games with us. Sometimes we get mad at her for making us clean our rooms or correct mistakes on our homework, but we know she is doing what is best for us so we can learn. She is a true big sister to us and a part of our family. Our dog and bird like her too and mom and dad think she is great as well. Last week, Maggie was taking us to a local store to buy reindeer decorations for our Volvo SUV when another driver hit our car. He did not see the red light and crashed into us. The car spun around several times, there was smoke, and the air bags opened. It was very scary. Maggie was calm and took care of us after the accident. A neighbor saw the accident happen and also came to help us before the police and ambulance came. She told mom and dad how calm and mature Maggie was and we were blessed to have her in our family. It was very scary but Maggie helped protect us. I think it is her good driving skills from Germany that kept the car from flipping. Katherine had to go to the hospital in an ambulance. We are all better now. and glad that we had Maggie to help. Maggie should be au pair of the year because she helped save our life and is a great big sister. We are all blessed to have her and happy to be safe at home for the holidays.
